DIY gift ideas: for him

Christmas is only a few weeks away now but there's still plenty of time to make these homemade gifts! If you're struggling to think of cheap and cheerful stocking fillers or would like to add a more personal touch to your presents, I've rounded up a few ideas to help. Clicking on the photos will take you to through to the blogs behind the ideas and the tutorials that you'll need to make them.

1. If you're skilled in the sewing department then you could create your own bag, or simply buy one to fill will all sorts of things that he might need for the car.

2. Belt organiser: this can also be done by screwing hooks into a thick clothes hanger...

3. ...or it could be knitted!

4. You could also create coasters from comic books, regular books (by either using the pages or paperback covers), or you could make them even more personalised by drawing your own images or writing quotes to mod podge on.

5. Grooming kit in a jar.

6. This mouse mat would be a really fun gift to get the kids involved in (and could be relatively easy to do by getting stamps from a craft shop rather than by creating your own designs).

7. This clock has been made from a bicycle brake, however if he isn't into mechanics then there are lots of other kinds of clocks that you could make (with plates, photos, etc)

8. I can imagine giving something like this to my boyfriend. It could be made into a bookmark or a wall hanging, with any kind of quote, pattern, etc, the possibilities are endless!

9. I think this is probably my favourite in the list. Although it's more like embellishing a gift rather than making your own I think it's a fun way to add a bit of festivity. You could even do this with finished beers and wine bottles for decoration.

10. This Dr Pepper BBQ sauce looks amazing and would be great as a stocking filler or partnered up with a reindeer beer ;)

11. These map plates would be handy to keep his keys, wallet, and any other daily bits and pieces in one place.

12. Secret hollow books seem a bit fiddly to make but the end result would be worth it!

13. The original link to these cork letters has expired, but I've found a different tutorial which explains how to make them.

14. Little messages made out of old keyboards would be ideal for the techie in your life, but you could also turn the keys into fridge magnets!

15. Finally, a sock bouquet - because who doesn't love socks at Christmas?
